Preferred Hotel Group to Open Six Hotels in Colombia 2014 to 2015

Preferred Hotel Group plans to add six new hotels to its portfolio in Colombia in 2014 and 2015, reaching 15 units in operation in the country, regional head Latin America and the Caribbean, Philipp Weghmann. The main focus of the company will be Colombia's capital Bogota where it will debut with its luxurious brands Sterlign Design, Preferred Hotels & Resorts and Summit Serviced Residences Brands. However, the chain will open hotels also in Medellin, Cali, Barranquilla and Cartagena, Weghmann added.
Preferred Hotel Group Names Saurabh Rai as Area Managing Director of South Asia and Middle East

Preferred Hotel Group has appointed Saurabh Rai as its area managing director of South Asia and Middle East. In his new position, Rai will work with Anthony Ross, executive vice of president of Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa for Preferred Hotel Group, to drive continuous development and strategic expansion of the company and its family of brands in the region. Rai began his career with the group in 2008 as director of global sales and development for India and Middle East. He was promoted to regional director of India in 2009 and gained additional responsibilities upon his subsequent promotion to regional director of South Asia and Middle East in 2013.

Preferred Hotel Group has appointed Anthony Ross as Executive Vice President for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA). In his new capacity, Ross will drive the company's existing development efforts in key cities throughout the region, working closely with a team of Regional Directors. He is also committed to identifying unique, innovative solutions to help Preferred Hotel Group generate greater revenue and increased market share for its member hotels. Ross brings more than 25 years of international hospitality experience to his new responsibilities with Preferred Hotel Group. Most recently, Ross served as vice president of operations for Marco Polo Hotels, where he was helping to develop new luxury hotel brand. Based in Hong Kong, he assumes the role previously held by Ananya Narayan, who departed Preferred Hotel Group in Feb. 2014 after a 10-year tenure to join his family business in Dubai.
