Singapore Airlines will operate the Airbus A380 to the city and Delhi from May 30. It was the first definite announcement by any carrier about its plans to fly the superjumbo into the country since the government lifted a ban in January. The A380 will operate daily to both the city and Delhi, taking over from two daily flights that currently serve each city using smaller Boeing 777s, said a release by the airline. The other daily flight will continue to be operated with B777s. In March, the air services agreement with Singapore was amended to allow A380 operations.

The weaker passenger carriage was attributed to a combination of Lunar New Year demand shifting from February last year to January this year and softer demand to Bangkok.
