NATO Support Agency and Central Europe Pipeline System Programme Office Select Energy Solutions International, Inc. to Implement an Integrated Synthesis(R) and PipelineScheduler(R) Solution
Oct 23 13
Energy Solutions International, Inc. has been selected by NATO Support Agency (NSPA) and Central Europe Pipeline System Programme Office (CEPS PO) to implement an integrated Synthesis(R) and PipelineScheduler(R) solution across the CEPS fuel pipeline and terminal network. The integrated Synthesis platform will be implemented to meet CEPS PO requirements for Contract and Client Management, Nominations Management, Product Accounting and Product Quality Management. The CEPS crosses the NATO Host Nations of Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg and The Netherlands and is 5,599 km long. With 33 terminals, its storage capacity is over 1,250,000 m(3). While built for military use and operated with military priority, the system delivers a large proportion of fuel to commercial customers including major North European airports, so CEPS has both civilian and military strategic significance. This major project will be managed by ESI and will be delivered from its European headquarters in the UK. ESI and its Synthesis solution were selected because of the ability to meet CEPS PO requirements with an integrated, off-the-shelf solution that had already been field proven on similar projects. This assures project delivery while providing a resilient, sustainable solution specifically built for petroleum transportation operators. CEPS PO has embarked on this project to ensure that resilience and sustainability are maintained while enabling improvement of service to customers and increasing efficiency in the operation of the CEPS.

Oil and Pipelines Agency (OPA) and Costain Group Plc Selects Energy Solutions International, Inc to Implement Synthesis(R) on 2000 km Pipeline and Terminal Network
Jul 12 13
Energy Solutions International, Inc. has been selected by the UK's Oil and Pipelines Agency (OPA) and its operations and maintenance contractor, Costain Group Plc., to implement the Synthesis(R) solution across the 2,000 km fuel pipeline and terminal network known as the Government Pipeline and Storage System (GPSS). The Synthesis platform will be implemented to meet the OPA's Stock Accounting requirements. The OPA is responsible for managing the GPSS for the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence. The OPA oversees all aspects of the facilities' operation and maintenance, ensuring that UK military and commercial requirements for aviation fuel are met. This major project will be co-managed by ESI and Costain on behalf of the OPA, and will be delivered from ESI's European HQ in their UK office. Synthesis was selected because of its ability to deliver key benefits to the OPA in terms of resilience and reliability; integration with new automation systems; consolidation of business processes across multiple sites, and network-wide inventory management and reporting. The OPA has embarked on a significant program of upgrading to industry-leading technology and practices across their operations, partnering with Costain in order to improve performance, reduce cost and further build sustainability and resilience. ESI was awarded the project following a rigorous procurement review, managed by a joint OPA and Costain team, which included a number of international companies in the bidding process. With the OPA project, Synthesis continues to expand its geographic footprint as the solution of choice for liquid pipeline operators worldwide.
