Aspect Imaging announced that Meir Silver, PhD has joined Aspect's management team as the new Director, Pre-clinical research. Dr. Silver, in his new role will lead Aspect Imaging's pre-clinical platform technology and commercialization initiatives and will continue to create new application opportunities upon which Aspect Imaging can further develop its competitive advantage in the research market. He will also manage Aspect Imaging's valued partnership and distribution agreements with Bruker for the ICON(TM) compact MRI platform and with Mediso Medical Systems for use of Aspect Imaging's M2 compact MRI system in its nanoScan(R) integrated PET/MRI and SPECT/MRI systems. Aspect Imaging is introducing its FlowScan(TM) Continuous Drilling Fluid Measurement Platform at the 2014 International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC)/SPE Annual Drilling Conference in Fort Worth, Texas. The meeting is being held from March 4, 2014 - March 6, 2014 at the Fort Worth Convention Centre in Fort Worth, Texas. The measurement and maintenance of the quality of drilling mud is a key component to the cost-effective drilling of new oil wells. Conventional methods for monitoring and measuring the quality of drilling mud are based on manual processes that are prone to error, measure only small samples and frequently clog. The FlowScan(TM) platform enables a new measurement paradigm as it is non-obstructive (measures directly through the pipe), is automated, provides continuous measurements, and enables a wide array of fluid measurements including drilling mud rheology, flow rates, and water cut on a single platform.

Aspect Imaging is featuring its M2 3D MR-based Histology platform at the 30th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Toxicological Pathology in Tokushima, Japan in the commercial exhibits, in a new technology workshop and as part of the scientific sessions. The 30 Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Toxicological Pathology (JSTP) is being held from January 30 - 31st, 2014 at the Awagin Hall in the Tokushima Arts Foundation For Culture in Tokushima, Japan. Non-destructive quantification of 3D structures allows specimens to be imaged and subsequently sectioned for conventional histopathology. With the company's platform, the application of 3D MRI-based histology is now a practical, affordable tool for use in drug development and safety assessment.
