Universal Music Group Names Mike Tunnicliffe to the Newly Created Role of Executive Vice President, Business Development & Partnerships, U.S., Effective January 1, 2015

Universal Music Group has named Mike Tunnicliffe, the former Chief Growth & Marketing Officer for GroupM, to the newly created role of Executive Vice President, Business Development & Partnerships, U.S., effective January 1, 2015. Tunnicliffe, who will be based in New York and report to UMG's Executive Vice President, U.S. Recorded Music, Michele Anthony, will oversee new business activity for UMG related to brand partnerships, strategic marketing alliances and marketing programs for advertisers. In his new position, Tunnicliffe will work closely with Olivier Robert-Murphy, Global Head of New Business, and his team, the strategic marketing groups at the company's labels and UMG's digital, commercial and marketing departments in creating new revenue opportunities for artists, labels and artists' brands. Tunnicliffe joined GroupM. At GroupM, he led major business development and revenue growth activities across the company's agencies, including Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC and Maxus, along with U.S.-based specialist businesses in digital, content, analytics and trading spaces. He was instrumental in winning clients such as NBC Universal, NBCU Digital and Nestle USA and was responsible for leading the agencies client facing teams to generate three-fold growth in revenues from GroupM's specialist businesses.

Universal Music Group Appoints Dickon Stainer as President and CEO of Global Classics

Universal Music Group appointed Dickon Stainer as President and CEO of Global Classics. He was with Decca Records Group as the president since 2010. In his new role, he will report to Universal Music Group 's (UMG) Max Hole, while as head of Decca Records Group, Stainer will continue to report to David Joseph, chairman and CEO of Universal Music UK & Ireland. In this additional role as the president and CEO of Global Classics, he will oversee classical music throughout Universal Music. Stainer will be responsible for the strategic and creative direction of Universal Music's labels like Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, Mercury Classics and classical music portal Sinfini Music. Meanwhile, Deutsche Grammophon president Mark Wilkinson will report jointly to Universal Music's President of Central Europe Frank Briegmann and Stainer. He will be working closely with Graham Southern COO and SVP Global Classics, who will be responsible for international classical marketing, digital, catalogue and commercial affairs. Previously, Southern was VP commercial Classical for Universal Music Group International. He will also report to Stainer. Stainer will chair Universal Music's new Global Classics Board which also includes Max Hole, Frank Briegmann, Graham Southern, Costa Pilavachi and Elizabeth Sobol.

Universal Music Group, Inc. Appoints Wisnu Surjono as Managing Director for Indonesia

Universal Music Group, Inc. has appointed Wisnu Surjono as Managing Director for Indonesia, effective November 3, 2014. In his new position, Wisnu will lead his management team to develop business strategies in line with Universal Music's global and emerging markets vision to significantly expand its domestic repertoire, international collaboration, digital innovation and new business opportunities. Wisnu previously held key positions at Coca Cola and Unilever, most recently as General Manager, where he was recognised for driving significant growth in the business.
