Megafon Opens its New Federal Telemarketing Centre in the City of Novosibirsk

Megafon has opened its new federal telemarketing centre in the city of Novosibirsk. The investment totaled RUB 100 million. The new telemarketing centre will be the second such centre of the operator; the first centre operates in the city of Rostov. The new centre will serve customers in the Urals, Siberia and the Far-East, with 160 staff members.

Megafon Expands Cooperation with Russian Post in the Kirov Region

Megafon announced that it has expanded its cooperation with Russian Post in the Kirov region. Modems, prepaid cards and Sims from the operator are available for sale in 550 outlets of Russian Post in the region, most of which are in rutal areas. The operator carried out training of over 600 staff of post offices in the region.

Megafon Launches Solar Energy Base Station

Megafon announced that it has launched its solar energy-powered 3G base station in Dagestan republic. The new base station is based on the mount of Tash-Bash, 30 km from the city of Makhachkala. Remote control enables the operator to monitor the power generation level. The base station is based in an area facing periodical power supply breaks. It is the first such base station in Northern Caucasus federal district.
