Nationwide Variable Insurance Trust Replace Waddell & Reed Investment Management Company with Wellington Management Company, LLP as Sub-Advisor

The board of trustees of Nationwide Variable Insurance Trust has approved the selection of Wellington Management Company, LLP to serve as a new sub-adviser to the NVIT Multi-Manager Small Cap Growth Fund, managing a portion of the Fund’s assets. At the same time, the board approved the termination of Waddell & Reed Investment Management Company as a sub-adviser to the Fund. The addition of Wellington as a sub adviser to the Fund was effective on March 20, 2013. The Trust has received an exemptive order from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that allows certain sub adviser changes to be made without shareholder approval.
