DS Waters of America Announces Strategic Alliance Agreement with Primo Water Corporation

DS Waters of America, Inc. announced that it has entered into a strategic alliance agreement with Primo Water Corporation. DS Waters will become the primary bottling and distribution partner in the U.S. for Primo(R) bottled water services in all territories. Primo will assume responsibility for DS Waters' current five-gallon retail exchange customers, including account management, billing and collections. It is anticipated that activities under the strategic alliance agreement will be phased in on a region-by-region basis.

DS Waters of America, Inc. opened at the New Orleans branch. The opening of this center signals the final integration of water and coffee services in one New Orleans facility. The center was designed to create greater flow and efficiencies of the refurbishment process across a wider number of SKUs. New machinery and advanced tooling equipment will improve the remanufacturing process and provide customers with high quality brewed beverage equipment. Twenty-four additional associates joined the 31 associates who recently relocated to Howard Avenue. This brings the New Orleans team to a total of 150 associates at this branch. The remanufacturing team is led by Glenn Blackwell, Director of Equipment Remanufacturing, a 32-year veteran of Standard.

DS Waters of America, Inc. announced the retirement of its chief executive officer, Dillon Schickli, and that its board of directors has named Tom Harrington to serve as the company's new chief executive officer, effective immediately. Harrington previously served as the company's president and chief operating officer; his new role combines the previously divided roles of president and chief executive officer. Harrington brings 27 years of beverage industry experience to his new role as the company's chief executive, including nine years with DS Waters. After joining the company in 2004 as senior vice president of the central division, Harrington later served as western division president in 2005 and was promoted to chief operating officer in 2008 and president in 2011.
