EADS North America, Inc. Signs Contract to Maintain German Federal Police's EC135 Rotorcraft

EADS North America, Inc. signed a maintenance, repair, and overhaul, or MRO, contract with the NATO Support Agency, or NSPA, an integrated logistics and services provider, to maintain German Federal Police's fleet of EC135 rotorcraft. The NATO Support Agency (NSPA) is NATO's Integrated Logistics and Services Provider Agency, which executed the procurement process for the service contract on behalf of the German Federal Police. This service contract covers all 41 EC135 T2i rotorcraft in the Bundespolizei Fliegergruppe (German Federal Police Flying Squadron) fleet, with the initial aircraft to arrive at Airbus Helicopters' Kassel-Calden, Germany maintenance facility later this month. The agreement has an initial three-year timeframe, with an extension option to five years. Airbus Helicopters' EC135 T2i is a member of the company's EC135 multi-mission twin-engine rotorcraft family, featuring Arrius 2B2 engines with higher power ratings, an increased maximum take-off weight and other enhancements.
