The Hive Group, Inc. Key Developments

The Hive Group Announces Release of Honeycomb Thin 6.0

The Hive Group announced the release of Honeycomb Thin 6.0, extending and improving tree map functionality for users of iPhones, iPads, and Android smart phones and tablets. With no Java or other plug-ins necessary, Honeycomb Thin 6.0 also offers more flexibility when making deployment decisions for traditional desktop environments. Honeycomb Thin was first introduced in 2007 with the simple objective of offering a 'no plug-in' alternative for traditional desktop deployments. Present, its charter and relevance are greatly expanded, reflecting the ever-increasing portion of web traffic attributed to mobile devices. With smart phone and tablet users in mind, Honeycomb Thin 6.0 automatically adjusts its layout and control interfaces to optimally accommodate mobile usage on both larger tablets and smaller smart phones. Honeycomb Thin accommodates common multi-touch gestures such as pinch and swipe; and offers access to filters and controls with specific screen size and rotation taken into account optimizing the use of screen real estate.

Hive Group Releases of Honeycomb Studio 5.11

Hive Group announced the release of Honeycomb Studio 5.11. The new release introduces new options for managing security and permissions of end user populations, and offers new support options for single sign-on (SSO) deployments. Among the important highlights: Honeycomb Studio now supports Active Directory integration in single sign-on deployments. The Honeycomb Studio roles assigned to each user can also be optionally managed from Active Directory -- when enabled, a user's Honeycomb Studio role(s) will be dynamically updated depending on the Active Directory group(s) that they belong to. Single sign-on access to Honeycomb Studio can be limited by the Active Directory group that a user belongs to. First time users of Honeycomb Studio can be automatically assigned a predefined set of Honeycomb Studio roles -- securely providing new users immediate access to the Honeycomb Studio environment.

The Hive Group Announces Release of Honeycomb Studio 5.10

The Hive Group announced the release of Honeycomb Studio 5.10. Honeycomb Studio advances data discovery to a new level, offering a flexible managed environment for administering large-scale deployments of treemap applications. The latest release introduces major new options for accessing data, accommodates diverse user populations and needs, and tailors new design flows around the creation and management of the data objects that underlie Honeycomb applications. Honeycomb Studio deployments are often managed by centralized IT functions -- to ensure that standards and formalized distribution channels are followed. However, in many instances, Honeycomb Studio is deployed specifically to provide users with self-service access and analysis capabilities. Honeycomb Studio 5.10 also means that data discovery capabilities can be deployed with confidence. Studio upholds basic philosophies around building and sharing treemaps, among them: a "create once" principle, support for "live treemaps" of live data, auto-customization of views for each user, and sharing and publishing functionality that respects each user's security. Honeycomb Studio 5.10 delivers much more power than a simple dashboard application. Since Studio exists as an entire managed environment, it is aware of each user's security profile, delivering only those views that are appropriate to each user, and populating those views only with data that is relevant to each user. Honeycomb treemap applications may be distributed to audiences of hundreds or thousands, and the treemaps will automatically customize themselves to each end user's security.
