Verimatrix announced that Swisscom has selected the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System to provide enhanced revenue security for its new Swisscom TV 2.0 service offering, which offers integrated live and seven-day replay services for more than 250 channels via an advanced Android-powered set-top box. Within the new TV 2.0 service, Swisscom chose to create a best-of-breed IPTV platform that could integrate rapidly with its in-house developed middleware, Harmonic's ProStream multiplexing and scrambling platform, and with advanced security chipsets and STBs. As the top-ranked IPTV content protection solution globally, VCAS for IPTV enables the secure delivery of live and catch-up video services over Swisscom's managed IP-based network, and offers a solid upgrade platform for Swisscom to extend its competitive advantage. VCAS for IPTV is integrated into Swisscom's TV 2.0 Android IPTV STB - developed in conjunction with Vestel - with iWedia software providing a smooth and intuitive user experience. The advanced security Android-powered STB also features Marvell's ARMADA 1500 Plus (88DE3108) system-on-chip platform with a Full HD video engine, dedicated security processor, and AVASTAR 88W8897 WiFi. The new recording function gives viewers great freedom. Thanks to a cloud-based architecture, subscribers can now record any number of programs in parallel within a storage capacity of up to 1,000 hours. M7 Group Selects Verimatrix to Provide Flexible and Agile Multi-Network Security for New Interactive TV Solution

Verimatrix announced that M7 Group has selected the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS(TM)) to provide enhanced security for its Online.nl service, which offers a large number of linear TV channels and multiple on demand services on set top boxes (STBs) and companion devices to customer in the Netherlands. The VCAS solutions are integrated with the Solocco Service Delivery Platform (SDP) and Content Delivery Platform (CDP), developed by M7 Group affiliated company Stream Group, to meet the standards of content security and streaming quality. The solution is delivered via Kaon set top boxes (STBs) with Zenterio middleware, providing a complete, integrated suite of solutions to secure video delivery. VCAS was deployed over M7 Group's existing network using standards-based simulcrypt technology, which enables parallel operation of multiple CAS solutions and a smooth operational transition. The broadcast system operates in conjunction with a secure HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) delivery system for STBs, PCs, tablets and smartphones. The innovative VCAS security solution helps M7 Group provide multi-network content protection for pay-TV services across the broadest range of multi-screen consumer devices whilst maintaining operational simplicity.
Deutsche Glasfaser GmbH Selects Verimatrix to Power Multi-Screen Vision

Verimatrix announced that Deutsche Glasfaser GmbH has selected the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS(TM)) to provide enhanced revenue security for its linear TV, radio, video-on-demand (VOD) and multi-screen services. The DGTV service is scheduled to launch in October 2014 and will offer German subscribers access to approximately 100 SD channels, 50 HD and 100 radio channels. Deutsche Glasfaser deployed VCAS(TM) for Internet TV to provide enhanced revenue security for DGTV, which is deployed over a fiber network featuring the HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) protocol. The new service can be accessed through multiple devices, including via an Abox42 model M20 set-top-box (STB), game consoles, both Android and iOS-based phones and tablets, PCs, Macs, and connected TVs. Key members of the broad Verimatrix ecosystem serve vital roles in the deployment, which also leverages Elemental's software-defined video processing technology, VisualOn's multimedia player for PC, Android and iOS, Cisco's servers and network technology, and Gluster FS' distributed file system. VCAS for Internet TV provides a complete digital TV security solution for OTT services over multiple networks. Featuring enhanced HLS security, VCAS for Internet TV secures pay-OTT services to multiple screens and across multiple network types, including both broadcast (linear) and VoD delivery modes. Specifically, VCAS for Internet TV provides pay-TV security features otherwise only found in managed DVB and IPTV networks, thus facilitating the licensing of premium content for OTT services.
