Knowaste LLC has opened facility in Sandwell, West Bromwich. It's new site represents a £5 million investment and the creation of 17 jobs. The plant, which is just off Kelvin Way, was officially opened Septmber 12th by the Chairman of the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), Stewart Towe CBE with a group of local dignitaries, the councillors and business partners. Its opening puts West Bromwich firmly on the national agenda for the adoption of green technologies, with the Sandwell recycling site the first of five planned for across the UK over the next four years. The Knowaste plant uses state-of-the-art technology to recycle AHPs, sterilising and separating the materials to recover highly valuable plastic and fibre. This can then be used for making new products, such as roof tiles or plastic components and fibre based construction and commercial tubes.
