Danica Pension Announces Financial Results for the Second Quarter and Six Months Ended June 30, 2014

Danica Pension announced financial results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2014. For the six months, the company reported net income from insurance business was DKK 842 million against net loss from insurance business of DKK 5 million a year ago. Net income was DKK 0.8 billion. For the quarter, the company reported net income from insurance business was DKK 437 million against net loss from insurance business of DKK 346 million a year ago.

Danica Pension Invests DKK 1.2 Billion in Copenhagen Real Estate Project

Danica Pension is investing DKK 1.2 billion (EUR 161 million) in a new 40,000 square meter residential, office and retail project on the outskirts of Copenhagen, having already agreed a lease on planned office space with US corporate giant Microsoft. The DKK 325 billion pensions subsidiary of Danske Bank said the project would produce 40,000 square meters of floor space including 300-400 residential units and 800 parking spaces. The new complex in the Lyngby district north of central Copenhagen will house Microsoft's new headquarters in Denmark. This type of property investment is attractive for pension customers because the can make a safe, long-term, satisfactory return.

Danica Pension Appoints Lars Andreasen as CFO

Lars Andreasen is to join the executive board of Danske Bank's Danica Pension as CFO. He will be in charge of the financial, investment and actuarial departments. Andreasen currently works in the group finance department at Danske, where he has been executive vice-president for the last six years. Before that, he was an accountant at KPMG. The precise date of his move to Danica has not been set.
