China Shenhua Energy and Energy Corporation of America to Jointly Develop Shale Gas in US

China Shenhua Energy announced that it has entered into an agreement with Energy Corporation of America to jointly develop a shale gas project in Pennsylvania state of US. The project includes 25 gas wells with depth of 7,850-8,250 feet and its recoverable volumes in the first 30 years are estimated at 134.3 billion cubic feet. Total investment in the project is predicted to be approximately $146 million, of which $90 million will be invested by the Chinese firm's US-based subsidiary and the rest to be equally shared by the subsidiary and ECA. The project has obtained approvals from both Chinese and US governmental authorities.

Energy Corp. of America Plans to Break Ground on New Headquarters in Charleston's Northgate Business Park

Energy Corp. of America announced plans to break ground on a new 60,000-square-foot eastern headquarters in Charleston's Northgate Business Park. While the project is still in its design phase, the company expects to spend between $10 million and $12 million to construct the new facility. The company has partnered with Jarrett Construction, Terradon Corp., and Associated Architects to design and construct the new building.
