Dollywood Releases FireChaser Express Ride Animation
Oct 9 13
Dollywood announced that FireChaser Express is spreading like wildfire with the release of exclusive ride animation which gives viewers a sneak peek of the highly anticipated new ride. The video is available at FireChaserExpress.com, a new website dedicated to behind-the-scenes information and updates about the new coaster. FireChaser Express, the nation's first dual-launch family coaster, is set to open at Dollywood in March 2014. The ride animation puts the viewer in the front seat as the groundbreaking coaster launches from the loading station traveling from zero to 16 mph in just 1.1 seconds. A 79-foot lift then propels FireChaser Express through a 'trick track' section where the passenger trains twist from side to side. Riders also encounter two helices and six 'airtime' moments on a journey that lasts two minutes and 19 seconds over 2,427 feet of winding track. As the journey ends, a backward launch from zero to 20 mph in two seconds sends FireChaser Express back to the station traveling in the opposite direction. Perched 12 stories above Dollywood's Wilderness Pass area, FireChaser Express features three 14-passenger trains with an hourly capacity of 750 riders. The coaster's 39-inch minimum height requirement invites families with children as young as four or five years old to ride together.
