EnviroLogix, Inc. Key Developments

EnviroLogix, Inc. Introduces DNAble Salmonella Rapid Screening Kit

EnviroLogix, Inc. has introduced the DNAble Salmonella Rapid Screening Kit, a pioneering testing solution for live poultry production. This technology represents a significant advancement in how Salmonella test results can be used to make pathogen-management decisions in the poultry industry. The new DNAble Salmonella test system generates same-day results that can be used to make intervention decisions when managing Salmonella in live production. The DNAble testing system uses a proprietary molecular-detection technology that requires minimal sample preparation but provides sensitive and specific results. Testing can be performed quickly and without expensive equipment, making DNAble an ideal solution for Salmonella management in the production process. EnviroLogix is seeking both NPIP and AOAC approval for the DNAble Salmonella Rapid Screening Kit. Additional pathogen and infectious disease tests are in development, and will be part of a comprehensive DNAble product portfolio.

EnviroLogix, Inc. Appoints John N. Markin as President and Chief Executive Officer

EnviroLogix, Inc. announced that they have successfully completed their search for a new President and CEO following the retirement of its founder and former President, Bruce S. Ferguson. John N. Markin, formerly a Manufacturing General Manager for GE Healthcare, is set to join the EnviroLogix team on October 1, 2012. After many years managing thin film and digital media manufacturing, Markin moved into managing laboratory consumable and medical device manufacturing with Whatman Inc. and GE Healthcare in 2006.

EnviroLogix, Inc. Signs Collaborative Agreement with Douglas Scientific to Develop and Optimize Solutions for High Throughput Real Time and Endpoint Nucleic Acid Analysis

EnviroLogix, Inc. announced that it has signed a collaborative agreement with Douglas Scientific to develop and optimize solutions for high throughput real time and endpoint nucleic acid analysis. The companies will leverage and build upon EnviroLogix' revolutionary isothermal DNAble(R)v2.0 chemistry and Douglas Scientific's disruptive Array Tape(TM) Platform. The DNAble isothermal amplification and detection technology represents a new paradigm in real time nucleic acid analysis and has the potential to impact the world of molecular biology. This new DNAble assay solution developed by EnviroLogix delivers results equivalent to qPCR in less than 10 minutes with the demonstrated ability to utilize crude sample preparations. These attributes make this solution equally valuable for point-of-use testing as well as extremely high throughput applications. DNAble is a very rapid, highly specific isothermal nucleic acid amplification technology that can amplify both RNA and DNA targets with single base resolution a billion-fold in 5-10 minutes at a single and constant temperature. It features EnviroLogix' next generation DNAblev2.0 chemistry. The proprietary chemistry produces highly specific, rapid, multiplexed, quantitative results rivaling qPCR. Unlike PCR, DNAble can amplify a target sequence from a crude sample preparation and do so with minimal equipment. DNAble's unique amplification process begins with a nicking enzyme that nicks the DNA structure at specific recognition sites. A polymerase then extends from the "nicked" site displacing the original opened single strand. These single strands hybridize with both the forward and reverse DNAble templates and the reaction begins to occur at an exponential rate yielding a detectable target in less than 10 minutes.
