PointRoll, Inc. Appoints Hal Trencher as Senior Vice President of Sales

PointRoll, Inc. announced that digital sales veteran Hal Trencher has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Sales. He will be tasked with expanding the company's customer base by furthering the adoption of PointRoll's intelligent ad management platform. With extensive, proven experience navigating the cutting edge of the entire media landscape, Trencher will play a critical role in growing PointRoll's brand-focused mobile, social and video businesses, guiding advertisers as they increase their attention to those emerging channels. He will also focus on fortifying a proactive sales presence, advancing PointRoll's mission of delivering relevant communication in every ad. Trencher was most recently the SVP of National Sales for Vevo, where he managed sales for the ad supported music video platform. Prior to that, he was Director of Sales at AOL. In his eight-year tenure at Yahoo, he led sales for sports, entertainment, broadband and video.

PointRoll Releases Video Viewability and Verification Metrics and PointRoll AdView Technology

PointRoll announced that it released Video Viewability and Verification Metrics and PointRoll AdView Technology. PointRoll AdView ensures that banner ads with video and animations pause when people scroll away from them, while Video Viewability and Verification Metrics report the delivery of in-stream video ads as viewable or not throughout video creative playback, and capture the size of the Publisher's video player. AdView, a proprietary encoding technology, provides advertisers and agencies with invaluable data about whether an animation or an in-banner video was seen, and for how long. AdView can even pause the ad animation or in-banner video playback, if the ad is not currently in-view. Using the IAB standard for display banner viewability, AdView tracks ad time based on animation quartiles, indicating the number of people who saw 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of a particular banner ad. Meanwhile, PointRoll's Video Viewability and Verification Metrics support the recently released IAB and MRC guidelines around in-stream video viewability, in addition to capturing the size of the video player in which in-stream video ads are shown. Video Viewability and Verification Metrics comply with the latest versions of the IAB's VAST 3.0 and VPAID 2.0 specifications, and PointRoll anticipates MRC accreditation of both its display and in-stream video viewable metrics by early fall. The three solutions will be available in conjunction with the lifting of the MRC's advisory on June 30, 2014.

PointRoll Launches its Social Engager Suite

PointRoll launched its Social Engager(TM) suite, which delivers sophisticated, dynamic ad creatives directly within the Facebook News Feed and Twitter stream, reaching consumers where they engage most on the mobile web with creative that is altered dynamically through data feeds. Advertisers using PointRoll's Social Engager can tailor their paid placements with dynamically varied and optimized images, animation, video and interactive calls to action in the feeds that command the attention of their most desired customers. Social Engager is a cornerstone of PointRoll's top-down corporate re-launch, kicking off at SXSW with a bar-side chat devoted to the importance of ad creative. The Social Engager Suite incorporates rich media features like multiple videos, gaming, polling, dynamic data integration, optimization and branded social media applications, highlighting several of the key components of the new PointRoll. Central to the company's new positioning is its ability to deliver highly relevant creative messaging by leveraging first, second and third-party dynamic data, which can include geo-location, weather, local product and store information.
