NiSource Inc. announced that Jim L. Stanley will join the company on October 1, 2012 as executive vice president and group CEO for Northern Indiana Public Service Company, Inc. (NIPSCO). Jim Stanley brings extensive Indiana utility leadership experience to NIPSCO's ongoing efforts to strengthen customer service, enhance reliability, and execute on major new environmental and infrastructure investment programs. Stanley succeeds Jimmy D. Staton, who has led both NIPSCO and NiSource's gas transmission and storage (NGT&S) operations. With Stanley's appointment, Staton will serve exclusively as executive vice president and group CEO for NGT&S, focusing on a broad array of customer service, growth and infrastructure initiatives at the company. Stanley comes to NiSource after serving in a variety of senior executive positions in the utility industry, most recently as senior vice president and chief distribution officer for Duke Energy's U.S. electric business. In this role, he had oversight of the electric distribution system for the company's five-state service area. Stanley will be based in Merrillville, Ind., reporting to Skaggs and serving as a member of NiSource's executive management council. Stanley's executive leadership team includes NIPSCO President Kathleen O'Leary, NIPSCO Chief Operating Officer Mike Finissi and NIPSCO Chief Financial Officer Pete Disser.

Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission Issues an Order Regarding Northern Indiana Public Service Company's Electric Rates and Charges

Northern Indiana Public Service Company, Inc. (NIPSCO) announced that the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) issued an Order regarding its electric rates and charges. The IURC approved a settlement agreement reached by NIPSCO, the Office of Utility Consumer Counselor, Indiana Municipal Utilities Group (i.e., Dyer, East Chicago, Griffith, Highland, Munster, Schererville, Valparaiso and Winfield), NLMK Indiana f/k/a Beta Steel Corporation, and the Industrial Group (Accurate Castings, Inc.; ArcelorMittal USA; BP Energy; Cargill, Inc.; NLMK Indiana; Praxair, Inc.; United States Steel Corporation; USG Corporation; and Weil-McLain). The rates currently in effect were approved in 1987.

Northern Indiana Public Service Company, Inc. Receives Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission Approval to Expand Offering of Energy Efficiency Programs

Northern Indiana Public Service Company, Inc. has received approval from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, or IURC, to expand its offering of energy efficiency programs designed to help electric customers save energy and manage their energy usage. All NIPSCO electric customers will be able to take advantage of and benefit from the new programs, the company said. The company has already rolled out some of the programs to help customers get a jump on energy savings, including: Instant Savings on Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFLs): Through a partnership with several local retailers, NIPSCO offers instant discounts when customers purchase select CFL lighting.
