Sky Brasil Expands 4G Service in Campina Grande

Sky Brasil announced that its TD-LTE service is available in Campina Grande. In the midst of a gradual rollout, Sky's 4G is now active in Sao Paulo state and the federal district, and in a total of about 33 cities, most of which are in the underserved north and northeast regions. Sky offers 2 Mbps and 4 Mbps monthly plans at BRL 79.90 and BRL 99.90, respectively. The connection is made via a 4G modem, which redistributes the signal transmitted from LTE antennas, not satellite.

Sky Brasil Reports Revenue Results for the First Quarter of 2014

Sky Brasil reported revenue results for the first quarter of 2014. The company's revenue fell 2.7% to $939 million while Arpu fell by 7.8% to $57.67 from $62.56. However, excluding changes in forex rates, Sky Brasil's first quarter revenue rose 15% versus the prior year driven by a 6% increase in the average number of subscribers and a 9% increase in local currency Arpu.
