Wind Unveils New Mobile Tariff for Under 30s

Wind has launched a new tariff, dubbed All Inclusive Young Edition, aimed exclusively at customers under 30. The tariff comes with 200 minutes of calls and unlimited SMS to all numbers, plus 2 GB in mobile data, for EUR 10 per month and is initially available until 10 June.

Wind and Google Sign Direct Carrier Billing Agreement

Wind has reached an agreement with Google to offer its 22 million customers direct carrier billing for purchases made from the Google Play Store. This smartphone feature allows customers to pay for apps, games, music, films and books directly from their phone account without needing to enter a credit card number. Wind is currently the only Italian operator to offer direct carrier billing in Google Play.

Wind Reports Earnings Results for the Second Quarter of 2013

Wind reported earnings results for the second quarter of 2013. For the quarter revenue was down 8% year-on-year to EUR 1.27 billion, hurt by sharp cuts to mobile termination rates. Excluding the MTR impact, revenues were up 2%. EBIDTA declined 9% to EUR 475 million, and capex was down 25% to EUR 183 million. At the mobile activities, revenues fell 9% to EUR 927 million, as 5% annual growth in the customer base was offset by price pressure and MTR cuts.
