GM Korea Opens Pre-Order Booking for 2015 Alpheon Luxury Sedan

General Motors Korea began accepting pre-orders for the 2015 model year Alpheon luxury sedan in South Korea. The automaker revealed that the new model will have cruise control and tyre pressure monitoring system as a standard feature and will be equipped with the latest infotainment system. The latest model is priced in the range of KRW 31.61 million to KRW 38.8 million, while the model is also available with a hybrid eAssist powertrain at a price of KRW 39.26 million. The Alpheon is the localised version of GM's Buick LaCrosse sedan model and was introduced into the South Korean market in 2010. The model competes against Hyundai and Kia's offerings like the Grandeur, Genesis, the K7 (known as Opirus globally), and the K9 in South Korea within its price band. The redesigned model is likely to increase the sales of the model to just over 5,500 units in 2014, up from last year's 3,921 units, while sales are projected to reach impressive levels when an all-new generation will hit the market sometime in 2018, according to IHS Automotive data. As well as the Alpheon model, GM Korea is also planning to roll out the latest model year Orlando multi-purpose-vehicle in South Korea this year.
