Aperio Technologies, Inc. Key Developments
Aperio Technologies, Inc. announced the global availability of Indica Labs tissue and application-specific image analysis tools. Indica Labs algorithms operate seamlessly with the Aperio PRECISION solution, enabling the user to access the Aperio viewer and analysis-tuning window in the same manner as Aperio image analysis tools. The analytics generated can then be stored, and viewed on the Aperio eSlide Manager and shared anywhere across the Aperio NETWORK. Indica Labs has a growing list of tools that can be customized according to user requirements. These tools include: Double Stain IHC, CISH and RNA-ISH quantification, amyloid plaque measurement, muscle fiber analysis, steatosis and adipose quantification, pancreatic islet analysis, microglial activation, axon quantification, and object-based and cell-based Immunofluorescence. The Aperio PRECISION solution includes a unique patent-protected open architecture that allows software partners to access the growing installed base of ePathology customers. Enabled by the Aperio software development kit, image analysis developers, like Indica Labs, can plug their applications into the powerful Aperio algorithm framework that was designed specifically to address the unique challenge associated with analysis of large eSlide images at any zoom level.
Aperio Technologies, Inc. announced a strategic collaboration with Dell Inc. to create the first scalable, secure medical cloud network for Pathology. Through its secure cloud-based Unified Clinical Archive solution, Dell manages nearly 5 billion medical images and studies for healthcare organizations. And now, Dell will host the existing suite of Aperio's solutions for digital pathology. Fortified by Dell's standards-based technology and storage capabilities, Aperio's ePathology Network(TM) solution will provide secure, compliant, worldwide access to pathology consultations via the cloud. Dell and Aperio are also collaborating to develop the repository of characterized digital slide images and cases, which will include the Juan Rosai Collection of Surgical Pathology Seminars. This furthers another mission of Aperio to make quality educational and reference materials more readily available to all pathologists around the world. The eSlide Repository(TM) will be a fulcrum for the healthcare and life sciences industries' focus on personalized medicine and enhanced precision and predictability.
Psyche Systems Corporation and Aperio Technologies, Inc. announced that they have joined forces to offer the most advanced anatomic pathology information system available. With this seamless, integrated solution, pathologists can immediately access, manage, and evaluate their whole digital slide images, eSlides, within their WindoPath(R) LIS via intuitive step-by-step workflows. The integration of Aperio ePathology eSlide Manager(TM) and Psyche Systems WindoPath Anatomic Pathology Software enables single sign-on and automatic, bi-directional data transfer in support of the Pathologist's workflow--improving the efficiency and quality of laboratory pathology services. The companies are launching the integrated solution at the USCAP Conference, March 17 -- 23, 2012.
