THX Ltd. announced a new, patented all-analog amplification technology that delivers superior sound quality in an energy efficient, compact design. This scalable THX technology enables the low-profile design of cool-running, high-powered amplifiers for use in everything from HDTVs, powered speakers, automotive audio systems and handheld devices to performance-driven applications, such as top-of-the-line audio/video receivers and audiophile-quality amplifiers. THX Ltd. announced enhancements to its popular THX cineSpace(TM) color management software, the de facto standard in film and television post-production for image color accuracy and consistency, with support for 64-bit operating systems on Windows, Mac and Linux platforms, in addition to 64-bit support in cinePlugin versions for Adobe Photoshop(TM), Apple Shake(TM), Eyeon Fusion(TM), Nucoda Film Master(TM) and Nuke(TM). The plugins are tightly integrated into the workflow and functionality of the associated systems and enable highly efficient display calibration and LUT selection. The latest THX cineSpace offerings also add support for the new X-Rite i1 Display Pro colorimeter and the Datacolor Spyder line of colorimeters, providing facilities with more choices in terms of price, quality, accuracy and functionality for display calibration devices. THX cineSpace products are used in major post-production, visual effects and animation facilities worldwide to calibrate monitors and projection systems, and establish an end-to-end color pipeline. It ensures that visual artists are able to see how an image will appear in a wide range of target environments, including film projection, digital cinemas, plasma monitors and LCD consumer displays. Sonic Solutions announced a partnership that will add THX Media Director(TM) technology into Sonic's content creation tools, streaming content, and RoxioNow(TM)-enabled consumer electronics devices. Sonic will incorporate THX Media Director technology into its professional content creation products, add THX Media Director content descriptors into digital content streamed through its RoxioNow entertainment platform, and incorporate THX Media Director functionality into RoxioNow playback. The collaboration will help bring THX Media Director capabilities to an array of online entertainment services and a broad, multi-manufacturer network of connected devices and allow consumers to experience movies, television, and music that is faithful to an artists' creative intent. The integration of THX Media Director across the Sonic products greatly extends the reach of THX's innovative technology into consumers' digital entertainment experience. With this rapid deployment of THX Media Director-enabled content and devices, consumers will begin to experience the benefits of THX Media Director's automatic operation, enjoying their digital content without having to constantly adjust A/V settings when switching across media types. The RoxioNow platform encompasses a complete range of products and technologies for the creation, distribution, and enjoyment of streamed and downloaded digital entertainment. THX will work with Sonic to include THX Media Director content descriptors into nearly all titles in its digital library.
