Hearst Newspapers announced that it has promoted Stacie Grueser to vice president of customer experience and operations for its Digital Marketing Services and LocalEdge. Hearst Newspapers Names Paul Barbetta as Senior Vice President of Circulation

Hearst Newspapers announced that Paul Barbetta has been named senior vice president of circulation for Hearst Newspapers. In this new position, Barbetta will be responsible for audience development across Hearst Newspapers, including print and digital subscription levels, sales and marketing, customer service and logistics at each of Hearst's large newspaper businesses. Barbetta joins Hearst from CBA Industries, where he was senior vice president of operations and logistics since November 2009. Barbetta was previously vice president of circulation, operations and transportation for Newsday Inc., from September 2004 to November 2009, and director of circulation for The Baltimore Sun, from June 2000 to September 2004.

Hearst Newspapers Names Kurt M. Vantosky as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Hearst Newspapers announced that Kurt M. Vantosky has been named senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Times Union in Albany, N.Y. Vantosky joins Hearst from Advance/Newhouse Communications where he was vice president of advertising for Alabama’s Birmingham News, since August 2009. In this role he worked with other key executives to develop and implement a progressive newspaper audience marketing campaign. He also transformed the sales staff from a traditionally print “service” team to a highly motivated multimedia sales team. He was previously vice president of advertising for the News Tribune/The Olympian in Tacoma, Wash., from July 2005 to August 2009.
