Travelport Announces the Renewal of its Multi-Year Full Content Agreement with Alitalia

Travelport announced the renewal of its multi-year full content agreement with Alitalia. The renewal of the full content agreement takes immediate effect, and enables the 67,000 Travelport-connected agents worldwide access to all of Alitalia's fares and inventory, including web fares, and ancillary offerings. The agreement also sees Alitalia signing up for Travelport's Rich Content and Branding technology, which is a key component of the Travelport Merchandising Platform. Rich Content and Branding will equip Alitalia with the ability to manage how its flights, fare families and ancillaries are visually presented and viewed on travel agency screens.

Jet Airways and Alitalia Announces the Expansion of Their Code Share Partnership

Jet Airways and Alitalia announced the expansion of their code share partnership offering guests enhanced network connectivity between India and Italy and beyond to several Indian and Italian cities of touristic and business importance. The new code share flights are on sale from July 1, 2014, for travel starting July 5, 2014. Under the expanded code share agreement, Jet Airways will place its marketing code on the Alitalia operated flights between Abu Dhabi and Rome and beyond to Bologna, Florence, Naples, Turin, Venice and Verona in Italy. Similarly, Alitalia will place its code on Jet Airways flights operated between Abu Dhabi and Delhi, Mumbai and Kochi. Alitalia will also place its code on Jet Airways' flights beyond Mumbai and Delhi to Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Udaipur.

Alitalia to Cut 2,200 Jobs from its 12,800 Workforce

Etihad and Alitalia tie-up to result in 2,200 job losses. Alitalia will cut 2,200 jobs from its 12,800 workforce as part of its upcoming tie-up with the Etihad Airways.
