Cypress Semiconductor Corp.'s TrueTouch Touchscreen Controllers Pair with Carestream's FLEXX Transparent Conductive Films for More Flexible and Responsive User Interfaces
Feb 26 14
Cypress Semiconductor Corp. and Carestream Advanced Materials announced that Cypress TrueTouch capacitive touchscreen controllers now work with touch panel designs using silver nanowire sensors from Carestream, here at Mobile World Congress. The companies are now developing true single-layer sensor panel solutions using Cypress's SLIM (Single-Layer Independent Multi-touch) sensor and Carestream's FLEXX sensor. The resulting solutions will enable more accurate and responsive user interfaces for smartphones, tablets, wearables and other touchscreen applications. Touchscreens are constantly evolving in terms of size, surface, shape and performance. Carestream's FLEXX Transparent Conductive Films (TCF) provide innovative features for improving the design of touch panel displays. FLEXX silver nanowire film sensors offer lower resistance than traditional indium tin oxide (ITO) film sensors, enabling lower cost sensor designs, faster panels and better scanning performance for larger screens. At lower sheet resistances, FLEXX films maintain excellent optical characteristics including extremely high transmission and neutral color. FLEXX film sensors are very flexible, allowing designers to provide accurate capacitive touch capability with bendable displays and curved surfaces.
Memorial Medical Center Selects Carestream Health's Radiology Imaging Solutions
Feb 18 14
Memorial Medical Center has selected Carestream Health for CARESTREAM Vue PACS and CARESTREAM Vue for Vendor Neutral Archive. Carestream's zero footprint Vue Motion image viewer now equips more than 500 physicians with access to radiology reports and imaging studies from mobile devices such as iPads, which provides rapid, easy access at any location-from patients' hospital rooms to operating suites or offices. An automatic registration feature for MRI, CT and other 3D exams electronically overlays one exam on top of another to help radiologists detect subtle changes in a patient's condition, while lesion management capabilities offer measurement tools that can help radiologists determine whether a cancerous lesion is growing or shrinking. Other enhancements included in the Vue PACS platform include integrated advanced visualization, vessel analysis and cardiac analysis.
Carestream Health Announces Extension of its Contract with the U.S. Defense Department
Jan 2 14
Carestream Health has been awarded an extension of its contract with the U.S. Defense Department that allows the federal government and federal agencies to spend up to $70.2 million for digital radiography and computed radiography medical imaging systems. The extension, which ends Dec. 15, 2014, is part of a six-year contract that includes the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps and federal agencies. Carestream offers wireless detectors that can be used with new or existing room-based or mobile imaging systems. Carestream's specialized imaging software can help improve visualization of soft tissue in the chest and also helps physicians verify correct placement of tubes and lines used in treating patients. Carestream offers healthcare providers the flexibility to move its digital radiography detectors among X-ray imaging systems located throughout a facility--including systems from other suppliers--to maximize equipment utilization and help reduce costs. Carestream also offers a fully featured family of computed radiography systems that can accommodate a variety of imaging workflows. These CR systems include reliable, compact tabletop solutions as well as high-volume, multi-cassette systems. Carestream's CR and DR imaging systems offer the same user interface, which can improve productivity and help allow technologists to proficiently use any system with minimal training.
