LDRA Partners with Xilinx to Bring Structural Coverage and Code Compliance to Zynq-7000 Family
Feb 25 14
LDRA partnered with Xilinx Inc. to streamline standards compliance for safety-critical application development, the LDRA tool suite has been integrated with the Xilinx(R) Zynq(R)-7000 All Programmable SoC and the Xilinx Zynq-7000 AP SoC Development Kit. Xilinx is leveraging LDRA structural coverage and standards compliance tools to enhance Zynq-7000 boot loader code and device driver code for key markets that require certification, compliance, and functional safety. LDRA tools are enabling Xilinx to provide additional value for developers of safety- and security-critical applications. In addition, the LDRA tool suite can now be used in Zynq-7000 SoC developments to help ensure and demonstrate compliance with relevant industry standards such as DO-178, IEC 61508, and ISO 26262. LDRA's verification platform gives developers a clear advantage in certifying the final embedded software for avionics, automotive, and industrial applications. Leveraging LDRA tools with Zynq-7000 SoCs mitigates compliance cost and risk. Use of the LDRA tool suite with the Zynq-7000 SoC adds value for the safety-critical application developer who must prove compliance of the final end-system to auditors. Because of the work that Xilinx is doing, developers using the LDRA verification tools are able to more easily integrate data from the hardware platform into the verification processes required for application software. The integration of the LDRA tool suite with the Xilinx Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC will be demonstrated at Embedded World in Nürnberg, Germany, February 25--27, 2014 in Hall 4-526 using an automotive application. The demonstration will show developers how to achieve ISO 26262 compliance with complete structural coverage based on all ASIL levels. The code will also be shown to be MISRA C:2012 compliant.
LDRA Releases the LDRA Compliance Management System
Feb 25 14
LDRA released the LDRA Compliance Management System (LCMS) to provide companies with the proper infrastructure enabling ISO 26262 compliance. LCMS for ISO 26262 walks customers through the fully compliant plans, document and transition checklists, standards and other lifecycle documents, and problem reports to help customers manage software planning, development, verification, and regulatory activities of ISO 26262 Part 6, Product Development: Software Level (ISO 26262-6). LCMS for ISO 26262-6 details a process that ensures software functional safety at dramatically reduced project costs. LCMS's comprehensive compliance management can become the process backbone underpinning compliance for automotive suppliers. LCMS comes complete with a document review management system, comprehensive review and analysis management system, and problem reporting management system with activity checklists. Building on LDRA's more than forty years of high-assurance software quality and certification experience, LCMS helps companies transition through the stages, automating the process to ensure that progress from one stage to another is seamless. While the compliance tools can work with any customer tool chain, customers who integrate LCMS for ISO 26262-6 with the LDRA tool suite are able to streamline their verification process, further reducing thousands of hours of documentation effort and up to 50% reduction of planning costs. To provide additional flexibility and security for customers, LDRA offers LCMS for ISO 26262-6 to operate in either cloud-based or locally hosted environments. LCMS Local is installed and secured behind an applicant's firewall to address security-sensitive requirements while LCMS Cloud delivers a more economical option for companies with greater flexibility. Both options include a two-day quick start training.
LDRA Introduces LDRAunit, an Integrated Framework for Automating the Generation and Management of Unit Tests
Sep 24 13
LDRA introduced LDRAunit, an integrated framework for automating the generation and management of unit tests. By separating unit testing capabilities from the rest of the LDRA tool suite, LDRA delivers a focused test management tool that addresses a need for software unit test without requiring investment in a complete tool chain. Such flexibility forms an ideal solution for companies that are committed to software quality though not necessarily required to certify to a specific standard. LDRAunit follows typical unit testing methodology by taking the smallest piece of testable software in an application, isolating it from the remainder of the code, and determining whether it behaves as expected. LDRAunit tests code units separately before integrating them into modules and then systems to simplify identification of which part of the code might be failing to deliver expected results. Extensive and sophisticated test automation and management options distinguish LDRAunit from other unit testing options. Using control flow and data flow analysis techniques, LDRAunit automatically generates tests in the application language--whether C, C++, Ada, or Java--and makes them capable of executing on the host or target. LDRAunit also automates stub generation for artifacts such as methods, constructors, system calls, and packages that are managed within a user interface. In addition, through eXtreme Testing capabilities, LDRAunit applies a range of return and global parameter values to the managed stubs for fully testing stub behavior and configurable exception handling to ensure that all code can be tested, hence minimizing the need for manual intervention.
