Lookout Announces Strategic Partnership with Samsung

Lookout announced its expansion into business with a stand-alone mobile security offering for business coming later this year. Additionally, Samsung Electronics and Lookout announced a partnership to bring Lookout to mobile devices with Samsung KNOX. Samsung KNOX is an end-to-end solution that provides security hardening from the hardware through to the application layer. Lookout for KNOX will include real-time, cloud-based scanning to protect against mobile threats from email attachments, web browsing, and any type of file sharing services. Lookout's expansion comes at a critical time. With one in three businesses allowing employees to use devices for work according to Gartner, mobile security is more important than ever. In fact, more than half of Fortune 1000 companies have employees using Lookout on their mobile devices already, and more than 45 million people worldwide use Lookout. With protection against mobile threats critical for businesses, Lookout will introduce Lookout for Business, a standalone offering, later this year. In partnership with Samsung, the KNOX platform retains full compatibility with Android and the Google ecosystem while engineering fundamental security and management enhancements, including its unique application container technology that enables enterprises to support both BYOD and Corporate-Liable models, without compromising corporate security or employee privacy.
T-Mobile USA Inc. and Lookout, Inc. Team Up to Provide T-Mobile Customers Instant Protection Against Mobile Threats

T-Mobile USA, Inc. and Lookout Inc. announced the companies have partnered to provide T-Mobile customers instant protection against mobile threats with Automatic App Security. Exclusively for T-Mobile customers, Lookout's Automatic App Security will come preloaded on select devices in 2012 and is expected on most Android(TM) devices in 2013, securing smartphones and tablets right out of the box for free. Since Automatic App Security is preloaded, T-Mobile customers are protected as soon as the device is turned on. There is no setup or registration required to safeguard the device. Lookout will scan all applications upon download, in addition to providing weekly scans for potential threats, using its Mobile Threat Network. The user will be notified if the application is determined to be safe or not. If an application is identified as potentially harmful, Lookout will provide information and instructions on how to protect against the threat or uninstall the application. With Automatic App Security, T-Mobile customers should receive an improved overall wireless experience -- at no additional charge. The LG Optimus L9 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab(R) 2 10.1 will be the first devices preloaded with Automatic App Security when it is available in the coming weeks. Existing T-Mobile customers can enjoy the same benefits by either registering the version of Lookout that's preloaded on their Android devices or by downloading it from the T-Mobile Picks section of Google Play. Automatic App Security from Lookout is added security against mobile threats for T-Mobile customers. In addition, customers will have access to security with the Lookout Mobile Security app, which will come preloaded on most T-Mobile Android devices. The Lookout Mobile Security app provides free protection from spyware and malware, provides the ability to back up and restore contacts, and finds a missing device with custom SCREAM(TM) Tones, even when the ringer is off.
