The International Insurance Society Inc. has appointed Greig Woodring, CEO of Reinsurance Group of America, as its new chairman-elect. Woodring will succeed Norman Sorensen, who recently retired as chairman of Principal Financial Group's international division, at the board of directors meeting of the society in June.

International Insurance Society announced that eight prominent insurance leaders will join its Board of Directors, effective 1st August. These new members are: Jorge Hilario Gouvea Vieira, president, Brazilian Insurance Confederation (CNSeg), Brazil; Joan Lamm-Tennant, PhD, Global Chief Economist and Risk Strategist, Guy Carpenter,USA; Oluwole Oshin, managing director, Custodian Allied Insurance, Nigeria; Qixiang Sun, PhD, Dean of School of Economics, Director of CCISSR, Peking University, School of Economics, China; Ikuo Uno, Executive Advisor to the Board, Nippon Life, Japan; Jack E. S. Tai, chairman of the Board, South China Insurance Co, Taiwan; Danny van der Eijk, member of the Executive Board, EUREKO Group, Netherlands; Therese (Terri) Vaughan, ceo, National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), USA.
