SoundExchange announced two key promotions within the company's senior management team. Anjula Singh, Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration, is promoted to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Colin Rushing, General Counsel, is promoted to Senior Vice President and General Counsel, effective immediately. As Chief Financial Officer, Anjula Singh has more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and audits. Prior to SoundExchange, Anjula served as Director of Corporate Accounting for The AES Corporation. As Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Colin Rushing will oversee legal proceedings and handling the regulatory and legal issues necessary for SoundExchange's daily operations. Formerly General Counsel for SoundExchange, Rushing helped expand the organization's international presence and increase regulatory and advocacy initiatives on behalf of the creative community and more. Before joining SoundExchange, Colin was an attorney at WilmerHale in Washington, D.C., where his focus was intellectual property and media law.

SoundExchange announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors. Jim Mahoney and Darius Van Arman will bring their knowledge, experience and passion for the music industry to the SoundExchange board. Mahoney and Van Arman will fill the positions previously held by Rich Bengloff, president of the American Association of Independent Music (A2IM), and Dick Huey, founder & CEO, Toolshed, respectively. Jim Mahoney is the vice president of The Association of Independent Music (A2IM). He joined A2IM in March, 2007. Mahoney has nearly 20 years in the independent music sector working in senior management capacities. Prior to A2IM, Mahoney served as president of the hip-hop indie label Fat Beats Records. Darius Van Arman founded the independent record label Jagjaguwar in 1996. He is currently co-owner and founder of Secretly Label Group (the labels Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar, Numero Group and Secretly Canadian) and co-owner of the affiliated company SC Distribution, an independent distribution company headquartered in Bloomington, Indiana.

SoundExchange announced the hire of Barry LeVine as vice president of Industry Relations. In this role, he will lead the organization's artist and label outreach program, along with driving strategic relationships with other organizations within the music community. Barry has more than 25 years of industry experience in various capacities, including entertainment relations, partnership development and relationship marketing. Most recently, Barry served as global executive vice president of Entertainment Relations at Gibson Brands. In this capacity, he was responsible for maximizing relationships within the entertainment world and creating awareness of Gibson entertainment and lifestyle products in 19 markets worldwide.
