NetMotion Wireless, Inc. Key Developments
NetMotion Wireless, Inc. announced a new version of its Locality cellular network performance management software. The software now supports Android and Windows 8 devices and delivers advanced LTE network management. Locality allows to effectively manage and monitor the networks don't own and don't control: public cellular networks. It delivers the performance insights enterprises need to ensure their mobile deployments are more productive, competitive, and customer service-centered. Traditional network management tools aren't able to provide insight into cellular networks. Locality was developed specifically to meet this gap. The software provides detailed reports and analytics on device, application, modem, and cellular network operation to help organizations troubleshoot connectivity issues, increase productivity of their mobile workers, and make informed business decisions based on empirical data. Locality fulfills this critical need by delivering real-time cellular deployment insight, and powerful reporting and management tools. Locality helps IT teams ensure deployment performance by detailing how well mobile applications, technologies and networks are working. Connectivity issues can be addressed swiftly or avoided altogether. The latest version supports mobile devices running Android and Windows 8, and supports operation on LTE network technology, helping enterprises protect their latest, and oftentimes substantial, investments in next-generation mobility. Installed on a mobile user's device, Locality gathers data about both the connection and the device. This data includes factors like signal quality, technology type (2G, 3G, 4G), location, user identification (who's logged on), what GPS device is being used, aircard information and application usage. This information is then presented to IT staff visually in maps and reports.
NetMotion Wireless, Inc. announced Oregon State Police (OSP) has purchased Locality cellular network performance management software to enhance the quality, reliability and value of its statewide mobile computing deployment. Locality provides OSP with a faster, more precise way to troubleshoot cellular network connectivity issues to improve officer safety, increase field worker productivity, extend investments in technology and service contracts, and reduce IT help desk tickets. Using Locality to evaluate real-world connection performance, OSP was able to define and meet new coverage requirements. OSP provides critical public safety services to its citizens and public safety partners across the state. Field employees and officers are regularly working from their vehicles and moving from one location to another throughout the day. Needing to access critical data by connecting to central information systems and databases from the road, officers routinely use public cellular networks to make the connection. To better serve its communities, OSP wanted to easily troubleshoot and eliminate any preventable connection issues its employees faced working remotely. With a Locality coverage report in hand, Gauthier sat down with the agency's carrier representative to discuss the possibility of improving coverage in the area. Already taking steps to enhance service in this region, the carrier confirmed it had plans to install three new cell sites. Locality is the only cellular counterpart to a wired network performance management offering, providing the detailed device, network and application reporting organizations need to proactively identify coverage issues, troubleshoot help desk tickets, make performance-based buying decisions, effectively track and manage all deployed devices, and more. With Locality, organizations can evaluate for the first time how well their mobile data deployments are working. IT staff can methodically compare and select carriers based on real performance data from their field users and choose the computing devices and data networking cards that provide the high productivity. Organizations can also reduce wireless deployment expenditures by identifying under-utilized or unused mobile assets.
NetMotion Wireless, Inc. announced its mobile VPN software, Mobility XE, has earned Common Criteria certification at Evaluation Assurance Level 4 (EAL4) augmented with flaw remediation, making it a more trusted and reliable product for procurement by government and other industries. Common Criteria is an international set of guidelines for verifying security features and capabilities of IT solutions. EAL4 is the internationally recognized assurance level available for a software product under the Common Criteria Recognition Agreement (CCRA) and is accepted in the U.S., Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom and more than two dozen other countries.
