Smiths Interconnect, Inc. Key Developments

Smiths Interconnect, Inc. Reports Earnings Results for the First Quarter Ended November 1, 2014; Provides Earnings Guidance for the First Half and Second Half of Fiscal Year 2015

Smiths Interconnect, Inc. reported earnings results for the first quarter ended November 1, 2014. For the quarter, the company saw declines in revenue and headline operating profit at constant currencies as the year started more slowly than expected. This reflects some spending delays by wireless telecoms customers, the timing of certain orders for test equipment with revenue benefiting the prior year and continued softness in some end markets, particularly defence.  First half revenues and profitability are budgeted to be below last year. However, the second half should see some recovery against the first half reflecting normal seasonality in certain markets and the timing of benefits from growth investments.

Smiths Group plc announced the appointment of Roland Carter as President of Smiths Interconnect following his interim appointment to the role six months ago. The change takes immediate effect. Smiths Interconnect, Inc. Announces Interim Management Statement for the First Quarter Ended November 2, 2013

Smiths Interconnect, Inc. announced interim management statement for the first quarter ended November 2, 2013. For the quarter, the company experienced declines in underlying revenue and headline operating profit against a strong comparator period. Growth in power was offset by lower revenues in Microwave and Connectors caused by a slowdown in demand from defence customers and on-going weakness in Europe, despite increased sales in the telecommunications market.
