Viet Nam Airlines and India's Jet Airways Launches New Direct Air Routes to Connect Ho Chi Minh City and New Delhi and Mumbai Cities

Viet Nam Airlines and India's Jet Airways announced the launching of new direct air routes to connect Ho Chi Minh City and New Delhi and Mumbai cities and other 50 destinations in India. On November 5, India's Jet Airways officially inaugurated direct air routes between New Delhi and Mumbai and Ho Chi Minh City. The direct flights are expected to boost the two sides' trade, investment and tourism in the future. In 2013, the number of travelers between the two nations totaled 46,000 and is estimated to increase 25% in 2014. The two nations are to open a new air route between Ha Noi and New Delhi.

Vietnam Airlines May Sell Stake To All Nippon Airways

As reported, Vietnam Airlines Company Limited may sell stake to ANA Holdings Inc. (TSE:9202). Vietnam Airlines was in talks with several possible partners, but it has reportedly chosen ANA Holdings (All Nippon Airways) as a possible strategic partner. A spokesman for All Nippon Airways declined to comment on the reports.

Vietnamese Government Has Reportedly Approved Final Plans To Sell 25% Of Vietnam Airlines

The Vietnamese government has approved final plans to sell 25% of Vietnam Airlines Company Limited in a privatization that will involve an initial public offering of shares, an online newspaper reported on September 11, 2014. Vietnam Airlines will sell 20% of stake to a strategic partner or partners, Vietnamese news website NDH quoted a senior government official as saying. Around 1.5% will be offered to the company's employees, while roughly 3.5% will be sold to the public, while the state will retain a 75% holding. The government has authorized the Minister of Transport to decide the debut share price of the carrier at its initial public offering (IPO), without giving a specific date for the IPO.
