WeatherBug Launches Pulse API Data Feed Suite
Feb 4 14
Earth Networks is making it easier to get the weather information due to the new Pulse API. The Pulse API delivers data from the weather and lightning detection networks -- operated by Earth Networks - WeatherBug -- in addition to other weather sources, including the NWS and WMO. Pulse API offers data from the company's exclusive real-time nationwide network of 10,000 WeatherBug stations; cloud-to-ground and in-cloud lightning data from the Earth Networks Total Lightning Network; and forecasts that refresh every few minutes from more than 2.6 million locations worldwide. Pulse API also utilizes the performing models and quality-controlled weather data to provide the most accurate information. The Pulse API is a suite of data feeds designed for the diverse needs of novice developers with small-scale projects to large enterprises and research organizations requiring precise, accurate and reliable weather information: Pulse Basic: Starting at $20, it's the perfect option for students and aspiring app developers who need local weather data, 10-day forecasts and alerts from National Weather Service to complete smaller projects or to build and test their apps. Pulse Plus: Starting at $150, it's a smart choice for small- to mid-sized organizations developing apps and working on projects that require radar and maps, and data such as the UV index and air quality forecasts. Pulse Pro: Starting at $300, it's the choice for larger enterprises, such as research organizations, government agencies, and industries that include emergency management, utilities, aviation, transportation, and sports and recreation that must stay one step ahead of the weather with detailed maps and forecasts. Pulse Premium: Customized data feeds including lightning, Earth Network's exclusive Dangerous Thunderstorm Alerts (DTAs), and other weather information.

Now WeatherBug provides the extended 10-day forecast - based on neighborhood-level data and fine-tuned algorithms - to help plan for the weather ahead. With one click, tablet users can also read news updates from the WeatherBug Meteorology Team. Users can select Spanish as the default language for current and extended forecasts. Exclusive features to WeatherBug include: spark lightning alerts and faster severe weather alerts.
