HCA, Ochsner AND Louisiana Childrens Eye Control Of Parish's Hospitals
Aug 30 13
HCA Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:HCA), Ochsner Health System and Louisiana Childrens Medical Center, Inc seeking to take over East Jefferson General Hospital and West Jefferson Medical Center made their official pitches to the Parish Council on August 29, 2013, with officials hoping a final decision on the future of financially troubled institutions will be taken next week. But some council members appeared concerned about the details of Nashville-based HCA's proposal for privatizing East Jefferson and West Jefferson. "If it’s determined HCA is looking to get paid back, that's going to make it real simple," Chris Roberts, Chairman of Parish Council, said. HCA and Louisiana Children's Medical Center have been seen as the leading contenders to take over the hospitals. None of the members voted for Ochsner Health System which has also put forward a proposal.
