AKQA to Open Creative Center in São Paulo; Announces Directorate Appointments

Hugo Veiga and Diego Machado, who created acclaimed initiatives for Unilever's Dove brand, will open AKQA's creative center in São Paulo. Opening the agency's first office in Brazil, also in São Paulo, to be housed in a space called Casa AKQA. Plans call for the AKQA São Paulo office, which will be the agency's 13th, to have 50 to 60 employees. Hugo Veiga and Diego Machado joined AKQA. The team is composed of Hugo Veiga, a copywriter, and Diego Machado, an art director. Mr. Veiga, 34, and Mr. Machado, 27, are leaving the São Paulo office of Ogilvy & Mather Brazil, part of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, to join AKQA. They are becoming creative directors at AKQA.

AKQA Names Sam Kelly to Head of Business Development and Marketing

AKQA has promoted Sam Kelly to Head of Business Development and Marketing. In his new role, Sam will oversee global business development and marketing, and report directly to CEO and founder Ajaz Ahmed. Sam will lead AKQA's global marketing and business development teams to create new opportunities for client collaborations, and introducing new services such as Business Invention, Data Science, and Social.

Anheuser-Busch Announces AKQA, Inc. as Digital Agency of Record for Budweiser, Bud Light and Stella Artois

Anheuser-Busch announced that AKQA, Inc. as the lead digital agency for its Budweiser, Bud Light and Stella Artois brand families. Effectively immediately, AKQA will assume responsibility for creating digital extensions for each brand's marketing campaigns, including online and mobile programs, content creation, identifying new partnership opportunities and app development. In its new role, AKQA will work in tandem with each brand's marketing agencies of record, Budweiser's Anomaly, Bud Light's Translation and Stella Artois' Mother.
