Capital BlueCross to Open First Health and Wellness Store in Harrisburg Region

Capital BlueCross announced that the company plans to open a Capital Blue health and wellness store in the shopping development in spring 2015, the second retail location within its 21-county footprint. The first Capital Blue store opened in 2012 in The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley. Additionally, the store will feature a full-service healthy cafe with free Wi-Fi and a seasonal menu of fresh sandwiches, salads, soups and beverages. And children will be able to enjoy iPads with health-related games and more in the Kids Zone. Complementing these services and amenities will be free community events from healthy cooking demonstrations and nutrition seminars to book signings and artist receptions to inspire and engage individuals and families to live healthy. With 8,800 square feet of space, the store will include a concierge desk; presentation space; children's area; fitness area; private individual and family customer service offices; meeting space for community use; and cafe space with ample casual seating.

Capital Blue Cross, Change Healthcare First to Market with Health Insurance Marketplace Video Series

Change Healthcare(R) is partnering with leading health insurer Capital BlueCross to help consumers prepare for the launch of health insurance marketplaces (aka exchanges) through a series of online, educational videos. The new video series is a part of Change Healthcare's Healthcare University solution, which uses educational videos, quizzes, games and game mechanics to teach consumers the basics of healthcare and how to make value-based decisions. Each health insurance marketplace video helps prepare consumers to understand and shop on the new marketplaces. Change Healthcare selected Capital BlueCross to help develop the content, and the health plan is first to market with the new Health Insurance Marketplace subject.

Capital Blue Cross Partners with Change Healthcare to Address Costs Through New Consumer Engagement, Cost Transparency Tools

Change Healthcare Corporation announced that it is partnering with Capital Blue Cross to help address the rising costs of health care. In mid-2013, the companies are rolling out Transparency Messenger(TM), a solution designed to help Capital BlueCross members make informed health care purchases based on value and quality of care at the best cost. The tool will be provided to Capital BlueCross members at no cost. One of the innovative features of Transparency Messenger is Change Healthcare's Ways to Save Alerts(TM). This tool proactively notifies customers of opportunities to save on their most common and recurring health care services and prescriptions, such as chiropractic care, physical therapy and maintenance medications.
