VimpelCom Ltd. announced the appointment of Peter Chernyshov as CEO of its Ukrainian Business Unit, Kyivstar. Peter Chernyshov will succeed Igor Lytovchenko, the Kyivstar founder, who has decided to retire from the company after 20 years in the role of CEO. The appointment will take effect from June 25, 2014. Kyivstar Announces Earnings Results for the First Quarter of 2014

Kyivstar announced earnings results for the first quarter of 2014. For the quarter, the company's Revenues declined by 7% year-on-year to UAH 2.942 billion. Mobile service revenue dropped by 6% to UAH 2.677 billion, primarily due to lower mobile voice revenue, partly offset by solid mobile data revenue growth of 15%. Fixed services revenue decreased by 2% to UAH 259 million. EBITDA fell 8% to UAH 1.43 billion, mainly due to lower mobile service revenue. Capital expenditure dropped by 9% to UAH 305 million.
