Canadian Tire Corporation Limited and Maple Leaf Sports &Entertainment Ltd. (MLSE) announced an extensive and sweeping business partnership that matches up Canada's leading sports retail brands and the country's large professional sports organization. In addition to extensive branding, digital and media assets that are commensurate with being a Platinum partner of MLSE, the partnership includes plans for a new Sport Chek store in Maple Leaf Square and MLSE apparel 'stores' in select Canadian Tire stores. It also includes title sponsorship of major assets, custom digital media content for Canadian Tire and Sport Chek's digital media channels, exclusive consumer promotions, and, for the 2014-15 season, Mark's will become official uniform provider for MLSE event staff at Air Canada Centre. The partnership involves Canadian Tire, Sport Chek, Mark's, Partsource, National Sports, Pro Hockey Life, and Atmosphere - all companies owned within the Canadian Tire Family of Companies. Under MLSE, the partnership includes the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Toronto FC, Toronto Marlies, the MLSE Foundation, Air Canada Centre, BMO Field, Ricoh Coliseum, Real Sports Apparel and Real Sports Bar &Grill. Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment announced a corporate restructuring designed to streamline the company and ultimately strengthen its position with both its fans and its customers. The company's new organizational structure will see a number of areas of the business reallocated to improve efficiency with a revamped senior leadership team reporting directly to CEO Tim Leiweke. The senior leadership team will consist of Tom Anselmi as Chief Operating Officer, Ian Clarke as Chief Financial Officer, David Hopkinson as Chief Commercial Officer, Peter Miller as Chief Legal and Development Officer and Bob Hunter as Chief Facilities and Live Entertainment Officer. As part of the organization's new structure, expanded portfolios will be given to a group of the company's next generation of leaders within Hopkinson's team as the company focuses on streamlined communication and interaction with its fans. Shannon Hosford will serve as Vice President, Marketing and Communications; Jeff Deline as Vice President, Global Partnerships and Tom Pistore as Vice President, Ticket Sales and Service.

Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd. announced that Tim Leiweke has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective June 30, 2013. Mr. Leiweke was most recently President and CEO of Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG). Effective June 30, Mr. Leiweke will lead the MLSE management team, along with Tom Anselmi, Chief Operating Officer, and the company's other front office and sports team executives. Mr. Leiweke has an outstanding track record of growth and success in a professional sports business career spanning more than 30 years. Before moving to Los Angeles to join the Kings as President in 1996 (becoming President and CEO of AEG Worldwide in 2001), he served as President and CEO of U.S. Skiing. Previously he spent four seasons as President of the NBA's Denver Nuggets.
