WaterFurnace Introduces Envision2 NXW Chiller

WaterFurnace International, Inc., has introduced the new Envision2 NXW Chiller, providing water heating and water cooling for a wide range of applications. Available in 10 to 50-ton capacities, the NXW will fit through most doors and features external fork truck lifting points for easy installation. Designed to perform to the higher standards in the industry, the NXW is used for pools, commercial aquariums, radiant floor heating, ice melt, chilled water applications, industrial process water, or to provide precisely heated or cooled water for fan coils or other applications. The NXW is equipped with a new and improved control box providing clean wiring and easy accessibility. The control box includes an emergency shutdown button and a user interface to aid in setup and diagnostics. The refrigeration circuit has also been updated with suction and discharge line vibration absorbers and larger, more efficient heat exchangers. Additional features of the Envision2 NXW Chiller include: Forklift cutouts in base of frame accessible without removing an access panel; Class J fuses for short circuit current rating (SCCR) up to 100 kA; Temperature sensor wells for accurate water temperature sensing; Copper-brazed, oversized stainless steel heat exchangers for high efficiency and low water side pressure drop; Bidirectional liquid line filter driers to maximize system cleanliness; Optional temperature set point control software to control leaving load temperature; Optional factory-installed pressure gauges. In addition, the NXW is controlled using FX10 microprocessor controls, enabling an easy connection to a Building Automation System with N2 Open, BACnet, or LonWorks protocols.

WaterFurnace International, Inc. announced upgrades to its 5 Series 500R11 indoor splits, 5 Series 500RO11 outdoor splits and the Synergy3D. Both the 5 Series indoor and outdoor splits now carry the WaterFurnace Aurora family of controls. The Aurora Base Control (ABC) features a microprocessor control to sequence all components during operation for optimum performance. In addition, the ABC provides easy-to-use troubleshooting features, including fault lights, onboard diagnostics and a handheld Aurora Interface Diagnostic (AID) tool. Upgraded cabinets for the 5 Series and Synergy3D units feature new paint and texture for an aesthetically pleasing look that is carried over from the 5 Series and 7 Series family of units. The heavy gauge galvanized sheet metal cabinets also feature a salt spray rating of 1,000 hours for long-lasting protection. In addition to the cabinet upgrade, changes to the Synergy3D include the relocation of LED status lights to the left corner post and new sweat desuperheater connections for the convenience of the contractor. The 5 Series 500RO11 outdoor splits are designed for outdoor installations and are connected to an indoor air handler via refrigerant lines and control wiring. Introduced last October, the 5 Series 500R11 indoor splits are engineered for indoor use where an all-in-one unit would be difficult to install, like attics or crawl spaces, and offer an attractive solution for retrofitting existing homes. Both the indoor and outdoor units are ENERGY STARÂ® rated and feature an energy efficiency ratio (EER) of 25.3 and a coefficient of performance (COP) of 4.4.
WaterFurnace International, Inc. Launches SEVENbration, a 7 Series Variable Capacity Geothermal Heat Pump

WaterFurnace International, Inc. launched SEVENbration, a 7 Series variable capacity geothermal heat pump. The 7 Series is the first variable capacity geothermal unit available for homeowners and the only unit to surpass both 41 EER and 5.3 COP, efficiencies twice that of traditional air conditioners or heat pumps and 30% greater than current geothermal units. The unit utilizes a soft-start variable capacity compressor, in concert with a variable speed ECM blower and variable speed loop pump. This allows the unit to scale output to exactly the level needed rather than the ‘high’ or ‘low’ speeds found in normal systems. The 7 Series can ramp down to 20 % of normal operation for ultra-efficient conditioning or up to 130% output using SuperBoost, for periods when extra cooling is needed. The capacity range is the wide and can even eliminate the need for auxiliary heat. The 7 Series also utilizes Aurora, WaterFurnace's next-generation of controls, to continuously monitor and optimize operation. Aurora provides two-way communication between components, robust troubleshooting capabilities and advanced communication protocols. WaterFurnace geothermal heat pumps are similar to traditional heat pumps but are more than twice as efficient. Instead of using the outside air, geothermal heat pumps tap into the constant thermal energy stored just below the earth's surface. A series of underground pipes (an earth loop) circulates an environmentally friendly mixture of alcohol and water to transport that energy. The earth loop brings heat into the home from below ground during the winter and removes heat from the home during the summer, carrying it back into the ground. Using this free energy source can save homeowners as much as 70% for heating, cooling and hot water, all without using any on-site fossil fuels or emitting carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide or other greenhouse gases.
