Smith & Wesson Corp. announced financial results for the first quarter ended July 31, 2011. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of $99.2 million. For the quarter ended July 31, profit was $791,000, or 1 cent a share, down from $6.2 million, or 10 cents a share, in the same 2010 period. The company expects total net revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2012 to be between $93.0 million and $96.0 million, which takes into consideration the two-week, scheduled summer factory shutdown that occurs in the firearm division each August.
