Previously, Venture Lending operated as a closed-end, nondiversified management investment company. It provided asset-based financing to selected venture capital-backed companies, in the form of secured loans, installment sales contracts, or equipment leases; and received warrants to acquire equity securities in connection with its portfolio investments. The company was incorporated in Maryland in May 1997.
