Datalogics Inc. announced the distribution of the Adobe PDF Print Engine SDK through an extension of their existing distribution agreement with Adobe Systems Inc. Under the terms of the agreement, licensing, support and maintenance services will be provided directly by Datalogics to independent software vendors (ISVs) looking to embed Adobe PDF Print Engine software into their applications. Adobe PDF Print Engine now joins the roster of other Adobe technologies--including Adobe PDF JobReady, Adobe Normalizer, and the Adobe PDF Library with .NET and Java interfaces--and solidifies Datalogics' position as the premier source for Adobe PDF developer technologies. The Adobe PDF Print Engine SDK is a JDF-driven, PDF-native rendering toolkit which employs the same core Adobe technologies used in Creative Suite applications, Adobe Reader(R), and Adobe Acrobat(R). ISVs can leverage these capabilities in their products, enabling reliable, robust and consistent end-to-end PDF print workflows.

Datalogics Inc. announced the availability of Adobe(R) PDF JobReady(TM) v3.0 through its distribution channels. Adobe PDF JobReady v3.0 enables print providers to offer more secure Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) print workflows that begin at their customers' desktops and extend across the Internet to the final output device. PDF JobReady is available exclusively from Datalogics to OEMs, ASPs, ISV integrators, and enterprise IT developers. New features in this release include: support for Windows(R) Installer (MSI)-based distribution files; and a new, internationalized client-side job queueing capability. PDF JobReady is delivered as a software developer toolkit (SDK) which can be used as the backbone for print-and-submit workflow applications. Using the SDK, developers build PDF JobReady client components distributed as customized printer drivers. End users print using this driver, initiating a process which creates a more secure PDF file; offers client side preview; captures job information; and delivers the entire package to the server for processing. The PDF file is created on the client side, enabling all the fonts and necessary resources to be collected, in accordance with the specific requirements of the print provider. As a result, compatibility on the server is virtually guaranteed, and job wastage is practically eliminated. PDF JobReady is used worldwide in quick print franchise operations as well as corporate print management solutions.
