Centerplate announced appointments of two new members to the corporate team. Lila Kahn recently joined Centerplate at their Corporate headquarters in Stamford as Director of Marketing for the Centerplate Restaurant Group. John Johnson III will join Centerplate as Purchasing Manager for the Facility Management and Design. Kahn has a long history in the food, beverage and hospitality industry for Centerplate. She will lead the marketing efforts on behalf of the company's portfolio of restaurant brands including John Harvard's and Harry's Smokehouse. A veteran purchasing, logistics and procurement strategist, John Johnson comes to Centerplate from Chihade International where he served as a Category Manager. Prior to that, he held leading roles in procurement for national restaurant brains, hospitality and foodservice distribution companies. Johnson will lead the Centerplate team charged with specifying, pricing, procuring and receiving all food service equipment and small wares. Centerplate also announced that Ashley Brown who has been promoted to Vice President of Specialty Retail. Brown will be based out San Francisco. In her new role, Brown will direct all aspects of Centerplate's retail merchandise business at over 50 premier professional and collegiate sports venues. Specifically, she will set the company's overall retail strategy, develop the assortment plans, and direct all stores' visual presentation. From an innovation perspective, Brown will manage the company's efforts in regards to guest technology, non-traditional advertising and in-venue promotions. Additionally, David Winarski, a respected executive on Centerplate's team for almost a decade, has been promoted to Vice President of Human Resources. He will be responsible for all HR functions, including talent and organizational development, employee relations, compensation and benefits and recruiting efforts for the company based out of the company's Greenville, SC hospitality service center.
Centerplate, Inc. has opened the first permanent team store for their NFL partner, San Francisco 49ers. Located at Town & Country Village in Palo Alto, CA, the team store will be open seven days a week through the remainder of the football season, allowing more 49ers fans than ever to sport their team's colors. As part of this exciting 49ers season, the company and the 49ers hosted a grand opening of the new 49ers Team Store, with fans lined up around the block to get to be the first inside the store. The 1,800 square foot 49ers Team Store offers all the newest styles of 49ers apparel, including the latest authentic team gear from Nike. While this is the first permanent team store location, fans should also be sure to check out the Shop 49ers mobile trailer in Justin Herman Plaza on weekdays in San Francisco which will also be operated by the company.
Centerplate announced the opening of their Hospitality Services Center in Greenville, SC. By uniting all of the company's service departments under one roof, the Hospitality Service Center will create a 'mission-control' nerve center for the company's 250 venues nationwide, fostering seamless teamwork and communication across all departments. The company's 15,000 square foot facility will house all of The company's national support staff when it opens November 26, 2012. The Hospitality Service Center will provide Accounting, Information Technology, Human Resources, Training, Recruitment, Purchasing, Facility Design, and Culinary Development services for all of The company's operations throughout North America. Working side-by-side in a technologically advanced facility, The company's support departments are perfectly positioned to share ideas, talents and synergies across multiple departments.
