Lafarge Canada Inc Appoints Bruno Roux as President and Chief Executive Officer for Eastern Canada Business Unit

Lafarge Canada Inc. announced that Bruno Roux has been appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer for the Eastern Canada business unit. In his new role, Mr. Roux will serve as Lafarge's senior leader for all market areas and product lines in Ontario, Quebec, and the Atlantic provinces. Mr. Roux will also join the Board of Directors of Lafarge Canada Inc. Mr. Roux's responsibilities include all operational, sales, marketing and functional elements of the cement, aggregates and ready-mix concrete product lines. He will lead these teams from the Eastern Canada head office in Toronto. Mr. Roux most recently held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Lafarge's operations in Poland. Mr. Roux's appointment is effective September 15, 2014, and he succeeds Bob Cartmel. Mr. Cartmel will remain with the Lafarge Group, assisting with the LafargeHolcim integration project.

Lafarge Canada Inc. announced the launch of its new corporate social responsibility platform. The new initiative, called Deep Roots - Part of its communities: past, present, and future, supports Lafarge's global Sustainability Ambitions for 2020, will demonstrate and reinforce its commitment to giving back to the communities where they live, work, and raise its families. Through Deep Roots, the company will support projects in one or more of the following four areas: Water, Environment, Sustainable Construction, and the Canadian Forces, Veterans, and their Families. These projects will be supported through direct financial contributions or through in-kind donations of Lafarge building solutions such as cement, concrete, and aggregates.

Lafarge Canada Inc. Introduces Stabilia in Eastern Canada

Lafarge Canada Inc. announced the launch of its latest product available to landscaping trades in the Eastern Canada marketplace, STABILIA, a cement-treated aggregate. The Eastern Canada marketplace consists of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. Developed and engineered by Lafarge, STABILIA is a sustainable alternative to traditional base methods used for interlock paving installation and temporary road construction. STABILIA provides the high-strength characteristics of a concrete base while maintaining the permeability rates of a granular base that can be used in a wide range of application types from remote projects such as wind farm turbine to construction sites requiring temporary roads to interlock paving installers.
