Calyon S.A. has hired Youssef Khlat as its new global head of high-yield capital markets. Khlat is based in London and reports to Tim Hall, Calyon's global head of debt capital markets origination. Khlat was most recently head of European high-yield capital markets and deputy head of European leveraged finance with BNP Paribas.

Calyon S.A. Announces Executive Changes

Calyon S.A. has appointed Thierry Simon as its new CEO for the Americas. Based in New York, Mr. Simon replaces Duncan Goldie-Morrison who was recently named as chairman of the board of Newedge, as well as senior advisor to Calyon's CEO, Patrick Valroff. In his new position, Mr. Simon also becomes CEO of Calyon Securities USA. Deputy CEO for Calyon Americas since May 2008, Mr. Simon held various positions in the international network beginning in 1985, notably in the UK and as Denmark country manager from 1995 to 1998.

KFH Not Part Of Financing AirAsia Privatization
10/10/2008

Kuwait Finance House (KFH) clarified on October 9 that it was not part of the proposed financing of Air Asia Bhd's potential privatization. In response to a Business Times article, the bank also said that it was not part of the buy-out plan of Tune Air Sdn Bhd. Business Times had reported on October 9 that three potential investors - KFH, Calyon SA and Virgin Group Limited - were rumored to be interested in providing funds that Air Asia requires to take itself private. The report also said that KFH and Calyon are to provide funding for Air Asia, which had said that Tune Air was mulling to acquire the rest of the company at MYR 1.35 per share.
