BBC Worldwide Reports Earnings Results for the Year 2014
Jul 23 14
BBC Worldwide reported earnings results for the year 2014. For the year, the company has reported headline profit up 0.7% to GBP 157.4 million for 2013/2014, from GBP 156.3 million a year earlier. Headline sales were down 6.6% to GBP 1.04 billion, from GBP 1.11 billion. The lower sales mainly reflected portfolio changes, including the sale of Lonely Planet and a new revenue share agreement for BBC.com. Adjusting for these, trading revenue was broadly flat, with growth from non-English language markets, sales to digital platforms and advertising helping to offset pressure on US and UK affiliate fees and declining DVD markets.
