IDE Technologies Ltd. will supply Multi-Effect Distillation (MED) units to a private customer in Asia for $75 million. The MED units will boost the desalination plant's capacity and efficiency. Each MED unit can produce 24,000 cubic meters of fresh water a day. The units that will be supplied will boost the desalination plant's capacity to 232,000 cubic meters a day, save energy and water pretreatment costs. The units high automation and control systems also reduce the need for operating and maintenance personnel, lowering operating costs.

IDE Technologies Ltd. Wins Desalination Contracts Worth $650 Million in US

IDE Technologies Ltd. has signed a $150 million contract with one of the largest desalination ventures in the US to plan and supply equipment for the largest desalination plant in the country. The plant will be built near the Encina power station in Carlsabad, in San Diego County, California. The company has also signed a $500 million, 30-year operating and maintenance contract with Poseidon Resources LP for the desalination facility, which will produce up to 200,000 cubic meters of drinking water a day in 2016. The Carslabad desalination plant will produce 7% of the area's water consumption by 2020.
