Constellation Expands Clinical Studies of CPI-0610
Aug 4 14
Constellation announced that it has initiated two additional clinical studies of its lead BET Inhibitor, CPI-0610. CPI-0610 has been progressing in a Phase 1 clinical trial in patients with lymphoma since September of 2013. As that trial continues, two new Phase 1 clinical trials of CPI-0610 were started in July of 2014. The first additional trial evaluates CPI-0610 in patients with multiple myeloma, while the second trial focuses on patients with acute leukemias or myelodysplastic syndrome. The expansion of the clinical evaluation of CPI-0610 to patients with these diseases is based on the high sensitivity of hematologic malignancies to BET inhibition in preclinical models, particularly in models of myeloma and acute leukemia. As a result of treating the first patients in both of these two new studies, Constellation earned a $1.5 MM milestone in its partnership with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). This external financial support from LLS enabled the expansion of the CPI-0610 clinical program into the three distinct indications being explored, with the hope of more rapidly and completely understanding which patients may benefit from this new approach to cancer treatment.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Awards Contract to Constellation for $2.1 Million Lincoln Tunnel Lighting Upgrade
Feb 3 14
Constellation announced that it has been awarded a contract by The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for the installation of 2,300 energy efficient, light-emitting diode (LED) lights in the Lincoln Tunnel. Under the terms of the contract, the $2.1 million lighting upgrade is expected to provide more than $283,000 in energy savings annually to the Port Authority. The resulting energy savings will be used to fund the cost of the project, which is scheduled for completion in February of 2014. The 45-watt Lincoln Tunnel LED lights will consume roughly half the energy of the existing 70-watt high-pressure sodium and 100-watt metal halide fixtures and reduce electricity use by an estimated 1.2 million kilowatt-hours annually. Facilities Solution Group, located in Perth Amboy, N.J., installed the system. Green RG Management, based in North Arlington, N.J., provided the LED lighting fixtures. Green Econometrics, in Clifton, N.J., conducted the energy efficiency analysis of the project.
