HNA Group Co., Ltd. Key Developments

HNA Plans To Sell Hong Kong Airlines Stake To Third Party

HNA Group Co., Ltd. seeks to divest its indirect stake in Hong Kong Airlines Ltd. to an independent third party in order to eliminate possible same-business competition between Hong Kong Airlines and Hainan Airlines Co., Ltd. (SHSE:900945). A Hainan Airlines statement shows that Hong Kong Airlines is preparing a share offering. Independent operation and share issuance of Hong Kong Airlines would be influenced if HNA Group injected the interest it holds in Hainan Airlines. Hong Kong Airlines discloses that the third party is most likely a long-term business partner of HNA Group in Hong Kong Airlines.

Hainan Airlines will also acquire Grand China Air Co., Ltd. by 2017.

Hainan Intends To Acquire Stake In Grand China Airlines
